Access to palliative care *

 

This proxy indicator by the Economist Intelligence Unit demonstrates that only 16.8 % of the people who died in France in 2015 would have been able to receive palliative care at current palliative care program levels. It shows that even in countries that have robust policies and funding for healthcare, gaps in provision exist – gaps that may increase with the rise in the proportion of older citizens in the coming years:
