Our investment policy
A large number of applications are submitted every year and are subject to thorough evaluation and a rigorous selection process by our scientific committee. The committee has extended and considerable expertise to ensure a proper use of the funding as well as a regular financial and performance feedback to the financial partners. With our far-reaching goals, and relatively limited funds to achieve them, we acknowledge how important it is to have sound strategies for success in all our programs. That approach is informed by three fundamental core values:
- First, the Palliative care fund is concerned primarily with solving social problems and developing palliative care in France. This is why the projects have to be solution- and progress-orientated, as well as highly innovative. This, too, requires setting clear objectives and creating ways to measure success whenever possible
- Second, it should be possible to implement the projects in other locations or on a larger scale. The project leader therefore has to be prepared to extend his or her project and take it to the next level. This approach also requires a willingness to share and to adapt.
- Third, our corporate project sponsors are essential partners in achieving the Palliative care fund’s goals. This explains the discretion in which we operate and the rigorous financial and performance monitoring we expect of our project leaders. Their evolution and results are monitored and guided by the Palliative care fund as the only intermediary between project managers and corporate sponsors.
